These two get shortlisted together constantly and they are not really the same kind of product. Pipedrive is a sales pipeline that has resisted becoming anything else. monday CRM is a view onto a general work platform, and everything good and bad about it follows from that.
A pipeline tool against a work platform
If your team already runs projects, marketing and operations on monday boards, the CRM sits in the same place and speaks the same language, and that is a strong practical argument no feature table shows. You get unlimited pipelines, contacts and boards on the entry tier, quotes and invoices from that tier capped at twenty a month, and a unified timeline of every email, call, meeting and note against a contact.
Pipedrive gives you a pipeline that already knows what a pipeline is for. Pipedrive scores 5 for ease of setup and 5 for integrations, against monday CRM's 4 on each. The trade is that it will not become your project tracker, and it does not try.
One caution on monday's automation: sources disagree about which tier makes it genuinely usable, which is an awkward thing to discover after committing a team to it.
Three seats before you have hired three people
monday CRM has a three-seat minimum, so the entry cost is not the eighteen dollars on the page — it is fifty-four dollars a month whatever your headcount. Its top tier is priced on request rather than published. monday CRM scores 2 for value, the lowest in this wave.
Pipedrive scores 3 for value and starts at fourteen dollars for one seat. There is no free plan and the trial ends after fourteen days, which is the real cost of choosing it: you commit before you have lived with it. Mailbox sync, automation and forecasting all start on the second tier rather than the first, so the fourteen-dollar number is rarely the one you end up paying either.
Which should you choose?
Choose monday CRM if your team already works on monday boards, or if you want the CRM and the rest of the work in one place and can absorb a three-seat floor. Choose Pipedrive if selling is the job and you want a tool that has already decided how a pipeline works.
If neither the three-seat minimum nor the missing free plan is acceptable, Zoho Bigin has a free tier and no seat floor, and HubSpot Sales Hub's free tools go further than most.
