Capsule vs Less Annoying CRM

Two deliberately small CRMs with opposite pricing philosophies: a free tier with a ladder above it, or one flat price and no ladder at all.

Both of these are aimed at a business of two to ten people that wants to stop losing track of conversations, and neither is trying to become a platform. They differ on a question most CRM comparisons never reach: whether there should be tiers at all.

A ladder, or a flat price

Capsule has four rungs. Free covers two users and 250 contacts and — unusually — connects a Gmail or Outlook account. Starter at US$18 a seat raises contacts to 30,000 and adds a shared mailbox and email templates. Growth at US$36 brings workflow automation, multiple pipelines, project boards and access controls. Advanced is US$54.

Less Annoying CRM has one rung. US$15 per user per month, everything included, unlimited contacts, companies, pipelines and custom fields, and the vendor states plainly that no features are locked behind an upgrade. There is a 30-day trial and no free plan beneath it.

The arithmetic depends entirely on which Capsule tier you would land on. Against Starter, the flat price is barely different. Against Growth, it is less than half.

What the flat price cannot buy

The catch is that "everything included" is only impressive if everything is a lot, and here it deliberately is not. Automations and an API are documented, but the surface stops well short of a sales platform — and because there is only one plan, whatever is missing is missing at every price.

Capsule's ladder exists precisely because those things exist further up it. Automation, multiple pipelines, project boards and the reporting that produces a forecast are all real, and they are all on the third tier. You are being asked to pay for depth that is genuinely there.

There is also the free tier to weigh. Two users is small, but it is permanent, and it includes the mailbox connection that most free plans in this category withhold.

Which should you choose?

Choose Less Annoying CRM if predictability is worth more to you than depth — if you have been burned by a price list designed to be climbed, and your requirements genuinely stop at contacts, pipelines and follow-ups. The absence of a ladder is the product.

Choose Capsule if you will want automation or real reporting inside a year, or if a permanent free tier for two people is the right way to start. It costs more at the point where the two products stop overlapping, and at that point it is doing more.
